Most people drink tea made from the leaves, which tend to contain caffeine. Tea made from flowers is caffeine free and wonderfully fragrant. Floral teas comfort us through our noses as well as our taste buds. Various flowers also have medicinal benefits.

Floral teas, made from dried flowers like chamomile, jasmine, hibiscus, rose, and lavender, are more than just visually appealing—they offer an aromatic experience and a range of health benefits. These teas have been cherished across cultures for centuries, known not only for their calming qualities but also for their holistic healing properties.
I drink mostly floral teas and have all my life. Growing up, I loved when my mother made hibiscus tea. While going to acupuncture school, drinking rose tea was calming and helpful during my stressful studying. I wanted to share with you some of my favorite floral teas and their medicinal benefits:

Chamomile Tea
Chamomile is famous for promoting relaxation and aiding sleep. It contains antioxidants like apigenin, which can help reduce insomnia and improve digestion. Chamomile also possesses anti-inflammatory properties, soothing sore throats and upset stomachs.
Jasmine Tea

Jasmine flowers are often blended with green or white tea, adding a fragrant touch. This combination provides mood-lifting benefits and may help relieve stress. Jasmine tea is rich in polyphenols, which can boost metabolism, aid weight loss, and promote heart health.
Hibiscus Tea

Known for its vibrant red color and tart flavor, hibiscus tea is a powerhouse of antioxidants. It helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol, contributing to cardiovascular health. Hibiscus also supports the immune system, thanks to its high vitamin C content.
Rose Tea

Rose tea, made from dried rose petals or buds, offers a delicate aroma. It can improve skin health by reducing inflammation and hydrating the body. Its mild diuretic effect also supports detoxification and healthy digestion.
Lavender Tea

Lavender tea is known for its ability to alleviate stress, anxiety, and headaches. It also promotes restful sleep and can soothe digestive discomfort. Lavender’s natural antimicrobial properties make it an excellent immune booster.
